The intention of my work is to present another reality, where living beings dream spaces and elements in situations and magical moments, fantasy and nostalgia of a bygone era in my universe flow naturally.
Topics vary but most are due to an obsessive compulsion to resort to the past, images of family album of memories and moments that create a feeling difficult to express. We can see details that evoke the romance hidden and subjective. They mix elements from different times and places, decontextualized from their original function and reason. The characters or beings that are masked or heavily made up, show a deadpan style. There are bodies without heads or head of a bird, bird walking space or prostrate on a branch, fluttering butterflies in the stomach, hands in the air. Cages that contain rather released. Mannequins on which is drawn up in the clouds in the sky or flowers made into umbrellas, bits of inspiration simulate the tapestry of Grandma, the fit of his clothes, the post dedicated to that impossible love ... the result final offers rich textures and striking expressive elements.
Currently, the creative process is revealed as the most important because I concentrate on enjoying the experience, develop ideas and use them as an excuse to experiment with different materials, textures, images, etc ...
The mixed media work, influenced by the collage and decopauge resin and acrylic paint. Materials that now occupy a place role in my work ranging from painting textiles, liquid paper, stained glass profiler, cracked, glue, silicone sheets, books, lace, printed fabric, etc ...
"I believe that Marcela is possessed of a creative force that allows us to delve into other realities subjective, contradictory or ambiguous that the memory refresh us and we activated in some way the reasoning in trying to decipher the codes hidden in print and his work"
